Jon Bakos (b. 1986, Rochester, New York) is an artist working with photography to examine how images shape lived experience. Drawing on historical photographic forms, his work employs narrative structures to explore the intersections of place, memory, and perception, considering how the past persists within the present.
His work has been exhibited at the University of New England Gallery of Art, Maine Media Workshops, the Trustman Art Gallery at Simmons College, and the Cambridge Art Association. He received a BFA in Photography from Lesley University College of Art and Design in 2009. Jon is currently the Instructional Media Specialist in Photography at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
